CHIMNEYS & LINER SYSTEMS

A chimney is designed to safely vent hot flue gases or smoke from a stove, boiler, furnace or fireplace to the outside atmosphere.

Chimneys are typically vertical — or as near to vertical as possible — to help gases flow efficiently.

For modern appliances, having the correct type of flue is essential.
This means:

✔    The correct class of flue

✔    The correct size

✔    And crucially, an insulated flue

We insulate flues using backfill, which not only keeps the flue rigid but also helps it heat up quickly, ensuring an effective draw. Insulated flues reduce the build-up of soot and tar, making your system safer and extending the life of your flue liner.

Pumice Linings

If you’re lining an existing chimney or building a new one, we highly recommend the Pumice Chimney System — widely regarded as the best on the market.

Benefits of pumice lining include:

✔    Exceptional insulation and longevity

✔   Made from natural Icelandic volcanic rock

✔   65-year life expectancy, compared to 25 years for stainless steel flexi liners

✔   Suitable for all fuel types Ideal for open fires, stoves, and boilers

✔   Helps reduce soot and tar build-up

✔   Improves appliance performance and is safe from chimney fires

Stainless Steel Linings

Flexible Stainless Steel Liner
Probably the most commonly used flue system, ideal for homes with an existing chimney. It’s a budget friendly option with a shorter lifespan than pumice linings that safely directs fumes outside. Quick to install and compatible with most stoves, it’s a simple, trusted choice for many households.

HTS Twinwall System
A great solution for homes without a chimney – like barn conversions or extensions. This pre-fabricated metal system can be fitted inside or outside and is designed to pass safely near combustible materials, such as wooden beams, with just a 50mm clearance. It’s a safe, flexible option where a traditional chimney isn’t possible.
